Bank Tiers
Bank classes are a method of classifying banks according to their relative size compared to the general banking market (in terms of total bank assets as reflected in bank balance sheets). Gartner uses a localized definition of banking levels that spans 11 different regions: four mature markets and seven emerging markets. These regions group together countries that have similar economic and business homogeneity so that a fair comparison can be made between the largest banks in different regions. The size ranges for each bank level vary by region.
